Buying your water ionizer represents a life-time investment that you will never regret. As you probably already know by now, ionized water can offer many health benefits, from preventing cancer or heart diseases to improving the appearance and health of your skin and hair. If you are planning to invest in a high quality alkaline water machine, keep in mind these next tips.

Consider the ionization plates

When shopping for a water ionizer, make sure to look at the ionization plates that it comes with because the plates are the most important components at a water ionizer. The majority of water ionizers have three, five, seven, eight, nine or eleven plates and the number of the plates affect the pH level and the flow rate of the ionized water.

Opt for a countertop model

Another important factor to keep in mind when buying a water ionizer is the design of the machine. There are two main models: undercounter and countertop water ionizer. An undercounter alkaline water machine may take less space in the kitchen, but these units are more expensive than traditional models. In addition to that, undercounter ionizers are more difficult to install, so it’s wise to get a countertop model.

Costs

Not all water ionizers are the same; there are some models that make strictly alkaline water while others only acidic water, so the price for a single unit can range considerably. However, you will be able to find a quality water ionizer that provides both acidic water and alkaline water at a reasonable price, but even if you pay more than $1,000, it still represents a lifetime investment.

Opt for a water ionizer that includes a filter

A good tip would be to invest in a water ionizer that can filter out contaminants from water. The good news is that you can find a wide variety of water ionizers that have filtering capabilities. It’s useful to get a water ionizer to remove chemicals and other contaminants like pharmaceuticals and heavy metals. Most water ionizers use an activated carbon filter to reduce chlorine and other chemicals from drinking water.

Warranty

Before deciding on a water ionizer model, make sure that the unit you are planning to buy includes a good warranty. The standard warranty for most models is of one year, but you can find newer ionizer models that offer a warranty of more than 1 or 2 years. The warranty can be useful for when you want to replace some worn out components to ensure that your water ionizer will perfect more effectively in the future.
